DeRuyter Gleaner, 10 Nov 1910: "John Howe, aged 63 years, a resident of Pompey Hollow, died Thursday PM, Nov. 3 [sic], at his home. He leaves a widow and two sons, Delos, who lives with his parents and works the farm and Dr. W. E. Howe of Denver, Col. J. W. Howe was a member of Delphi Falls Grange, No. 486, also a member of Pomona Grange. The funeral was very largely attended Monday at 2 PM, Rev. F. W. Betts of Syracuse officiating. Those from out of town were Devillo Woodward and wife of Manlius, Arthur Kenyon of Oran, W. W. Candee and wife, W. B. Candee and wife of Syracuse, H. Carpenter and wife of Lynden, R. L. Benedict of Manlius, K. O. Gardner and daughter of New Woodstock."
