Biography
Janet Spier was born before 1820.
She married Joseph Willis about 1842 at Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
Janet (Spier) Willis migrated from Scotland to New South Wales.
Following their first child's birth, Janet followed her husband to the Colony of New South Wales in 1843 aboard the Stratheden, arriving at Sydney on 5th June 1843.
Janet and Joseph had six children:
- Reverend Robert Willis (c1842-)
- Thomas Willis (1844-)
- Mary Willis (1845-), married Archdeacon William Gunther
- William Willis (1850-)
- Annette Willis (1852-), married F C Griffiths
- Edith Willis (1855-), married Edward Knox
She passed away on 11 November 1863, at home, at Woollahra, New South Wales.[1]
