Biography
Marie Dolea Girard was born at Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu on Aug. 14, 1835 and she was baptized there the next day. [1] She was the daughter of Pierre Girard and Archange Quintin who had married at St-Marc-sur-Richelieu in 1831.
Adelle Girard married Louis Labossiere on Sept. 28, 1852 [2] at St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Bas-Canada. He was the second child and first son of Joseph Labossiere and Sophie Fiset.
Louis Labossiere and Adelle Girard had eight known children, five boys and three girls, but sadly, one daughter died young at only seven years old. Four children were born at Contrecoeur between1853 and 1858. The family moved to Ste-Helene-de-Bagot where two more were born in 1862 and 1864. They then moved to Hudson, Middlesex, Massachusetts about 1869 where the last two children were born in 1869 and 1872.

Adelle Girard and her husband, Louis Labossiere are found in the 1880 U.S. census. [4] US Census 1880 Massachusetts-Worcester-Southborough Page 29 Dist. 60 ED 828 Louis Labossiere and wife, Delia (Girard) and their four youngest children, all sons: Philias, 17; Clement, 15; Alfred, 10 and Raymond, 8; Louis' father: Joseph Labossiere, 76 is also living with them. He had been widowed 16 years earlier in Quebec.
Louis died on May 18, 1907 at Marlborough, MA at the age of 75 years.

Adelle Girard passed away at Brockton, MA in 1924 and she was buried with Louis at Saint Marys Cemetery in Marlborough. [6]
