John Aughtman Died of Gun-shot Wounds
John Aughtman, 36, died Friday night, March 15th, 6:30 from gun shot wounds inflicted by his father-in-law, O. C. Clark of Andalusia Rt. 6. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtice Clark Aughtman, 2 sons, Wilton and Ronnie, 2 daughters, Joan and Melba Jean Aughtman, all of Andalusia, Rt. 6; Father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs James Aughtman of Dozier, Rt. 1; 5 brothers, Claude and Will of Niagara Falls, N.Y., James Jr. and Bura of Dozier Rt. 1, and Julian Aughtman of the U.S. Armed Forces, 2 sisters, Mrs. Thera Mae Johns of Dozier and Mrs. Eva Rae Cobb of Akron, Ohio. Funeral Services were held at Goodhope Church Tuesday, March 19th. with Elder Malone Meredith officiating. Music was furnished by Rawls School. Interment followed in Goodhope Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. V. Jones, J. E. Harris, W. Ivery, G. B. Barton and Ashton Faison. Foreman Funeral Home directing.
