Birth

Costello Kinney (see the Research Note below for a discussion of the spelling of his names.) was born at Livermore, Maine, on 18 Aug 1829, the son of Elisha Kenney and Mary (Hearsey) Kinney].^[1] His gravestone gives his birth date as 9 Aug 1829.^[2]

Marriages

1. Costellow Kenney and Sarah S. Perkins, both of Lowell, Massachusetts, married there on 8 Oct 1853.^[3]
2. Costellow Kenney and Helen R. Colby, both of Lowell, Massachusetts, married there on 28 Oct 1857.^[4]

Death

Costellow Kenney died of chronic gastitis at Lowell, Massachusetts, on 31 Jan 1910, with his age reported as 80.^[5] The gravestone of Costellow Kenney at the Valleu Cemetery in Manchester, New Hampshire, is inscribed with the dates 9 Aug 1829 and 31 Jan 1910.^[2]

Research Note

The list of children in the vital records of Livermore, Maine, for Elisha and Mary Kenney, or Kinney, spell the last name of the parents and all of the children as Kinney.^[1] Most of the subsequent references to Elisha and Mary spell their name Kenney. The Last Name at Birth of each of the children has been set to Kinney to conform to the WikiTree standard of using the spelling from the earliest known record.

His first name is spelled Costello in his birth record but Costellow in the 1850 census^[6] and in all subsequent records of him that have been found.
