Biography

Charles was born Feb 4, 1871 in Wilsons Beach, Campobello, Charlotte County, New Brunswick. He was a son of Charles and Melvina (UNKNOWN) Newman of Campobello. His father was a fisherman like many on the island.^[1] �He married Hannah Mathews of Campobello on April 27, 1893 in Eastport, Maine. She was a daughter of William Matthews and Mary E. (Babcock) Matthews. At the time of their marriage, Charles was a fisherman.^[2]

Charles passed away on Dec 8, 1954 in Campobello and was interred at the Wilsons Beach Cemetery.^[3][1]

• The 1871 Census includes his mother, named Melvina, however the 1881 census does not indicating she passed away between 1871-1881
