OBITUARY: MARKERT, Bernhard S. of Dime Box. Age 71. Died 10/21/1971 (Thursday) at his home. Services held (Sat.) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dime Box. Burial in Dime Box Cemetery. Rev. Herbert Hartfield, pastor, officiated. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home of Giddings in charge of arrangements.
He was BORN 1/6/1900 and lifelong resident of Dime Box.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Lena Markert of Dime Box; 3 daughters; 5 sons; 2 sisters, Mrs.Alma Saage of Thrall & Round Rock, and Mrs. Freda Towery of Rockdale; 2 brothers, Theodore Markert of Thorndale and Ernest Markert of Houston; 28 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
