Biography

OBITUARY: Robert Zamora passed away on May 15, 2020 at his home in Magdalena, NM. Born November 29, 1929 in Kelly, NM to Dominico Zamora and Angelina Oberto Zamora, Robert was a life-long cowboy. He began his career at the young age of 14, working on multiple ranches throughout New Mexico and Texas, briefly hanging up his spurs when he served in the Army during the Korean War. Robert was known for his hard work ethic, resilience, and daring adventurousness that persevered throughout his lifetime. Robert continued to work as a rancher until weeks before his passing, never allowing his limitations to keep him from enjoying his passion. He is survived by four siblings (Pete Zamora, Henry Zamora, Helen Zamora and Emma Montoya) as well as his wife Bennie Otero Zamora, his Daughter Grace Zamora, and his Grandson Robert L. Zamora. A private burial will take place at the Magdalena Cemetery.
