Will of John Rowe (1615) of Breage (CRO AP/R/1546)

In the name of God Amen I John Rowe the__of the parish of Breage in the County of Cornwall Yeoman Being of good health and sound and perfect memory, thanks be Almighty God for the same, do hereby revoke all former wills by me made. I bequeath my soule unto the hands of Almighty God my Creator and give my body to a decent Christian Burial in the parish church of Breage.

Item-I give and bequeath forty shillings to the poore of the said parish of Breage to be payed by my executor here after named.

Item- I give and bequeath forty shillings to the poore of the parish of St Illary to be paid by my executor here after named.

Item I give ten shillings to the poore of the parish of Germoe to be paid by my executor

Item I give ten shillings to ye poore of the parish of Perranuthnoe to be paid by my executor

Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandson John Rowe five pounds to be paid by my executor

Item I give and bequeath unto William Rowe my Grandson five pounds to be paid by my executor

Item I give and bequeath into Alexander Rowe my Grandson five pounds to be paid by my executor

Item I give and bequeath unto Joseph Rowe my Grandson Joseph Rowe five pounds to be paid by my executor

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Alice Johns two children fifty shillings apiece to be paid them by my executor here after named twelve months after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto John Rowe my eldest sonn all my household goods that shall be in the house where he now liveth at the time of my death only except my chest and sofa __I give and bequeath unto my sonn James Rowe and Mary his daughter, and my will and meaning is that what is in the said chest and coafer as aforesaid at the time of my death is to be equally devided between my sonn John and James Rowe and not to be opened till they both be present at the doing of itt Lastly - I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my two sons John and James Rowe joint executors of this my last will and testament and that they and their family ___ and agree to gather in peace and amyty is my desire. All also my meaning is that all my money due upon bonds unto me may be equally be devided between them in a friendly and brotherly way and manner. In testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and Seale the twentyth day of January Anno Dun 1699 The sign of John Rowe
