Biography

Jane E. Marsh was born at Sandwich, Massachusetts, in May of 1828, a daughter of Joseph and Mary A. Marsh; she married first, the 60-year-old (though his birth year was incorrectly reported as 1819) and twice-widowed mariner Moses Witherell, born at Pocasset (then part of Sandwich), in mid-August of 1869; second, New Hampshire-born stonecutter Sylvanus McAllister, on the last day of October, 1872; and third, Luther Douglass, on the 16th of October, 1889, all at Sandwich.

She died, at nearby Bourne, early in the summer of 1900.
