Biography

Frank Harris Fulford was born about 1868 at Ontario, Canada. He was the son of John Fulford and Mary McRae.

Appeared in the 1871 Canada Census in Wolford, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario. The household included: John age 28, occupation mabel [marble] dealer; Mary age 28; Carline age 5; Frank age 3; Charles age 0.

Appeared in the 1881 Canada Census in Wolford, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario. The household included: John age 37; Mary age 29; Corey E. age 15; Frank age 13; Charles E. age 11.

Appeared in the 1891 Canada Census in Brockville, Ontario. The household included: John H. age 49, occupation retail druggist; Mary age 49; Frank H. age 23, occupation music teacher; Charles E. age 21; occupation dry clerk; Carrie E. age 21, occupation public school teacher.

Appeared in the 1901 Canada Census in Brockville, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario. The household included: Frank H. age 32, occupation music Iteacher; Lily A. age 34; Agnes age 5; John H. age 3; William age 1; Margaret Fleming [sister-in-law] age 30.

From 1906, following his younger brother, Charles' death, Frank ran the Bile Beans Manufacturing Company^[1]. From the proceeds of the extremely prosperous business, he purchased Headingley Castle in Leeds in 1909, and donated artworks to the museum at Temple Newsam^[2].

Frank composed the Bile Beans Manufacturing Company's 'Bile Bean March' in 1898^[3][4].

Frank passed away in 1943 at Leeds, Yorkshire, England^[5].
