Biography
Roy J. "Jack" Estel, 73, of Independence Twp, passed away Friday Sept. 2. 2011 in his home.
Born May 30, 1938 in New Freeport, Pa, he is the son of Mary (Six) Toney of Morovia, CA, and the late Ralph and Thelma Estel.
Mr. Estel retired as a steamfitter from Local #47.
A 1957 graduate of Hopewell High School, he was a member of Service Church in Raccoon Twp., the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Neighborhood Saddle Club and served as a former director of the Beaver County 4-H Stockman's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Estel, his children, Roy J. Estel, Jr- Independence, Karen (Howard) Riter-Georgetown, Connie (James "Jake") Iorio-Independence, Beverly (Dennis) Kumer-Georgetown, Mark Unger, and Kelly (Kirk) Lutz all of Independence Twp, and Eric S. Unger of Cove Junction, Oregon. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother and sister in law Terry and Joann Estel of Raccoon Twp; 2 sisters Deidra Toney of Morovia, CA and Bonnie Ross of Aliquippa, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father and stepmother, he was preceded in death by his first wife Betty J. Estel and a son John Sperduti.
