Biography of Michael MINIHANE of 1798
Michael Minihane was born about 1797 in County Cork, Ireland, possibly in Munnig North or Ballyoughtra townlands in Creagh Civil Parish, or maybe in Aghadown Civil Parish.
Michael Minihane probably a brother of these other Minihane family members, but might be a cousin instead:
- Margaret Minihane who married Timothy Burke, Sr. before 1815.
- Catherine MInihane who served as a baptismal sponsor for Michael Minihane's daugther Catherine MInihane in 1823.
- John Minihane who married and had children including a child named Catherine MInihane who was baptized in 1817, and a son named John Minihane, Jr.
Michael Minihane married Mary Hurly before 1823 and had a daughter named Catherine MInihane in 1823, who was baptized in the Roman Catholic Parish of Skibbereen and Rath.

A Michael Minihane married Collins and had a son John Minihane, born and baptized in 1826. Sponsors Jeremiah Minihane and Mary Collins. We don't know if this is the same Michael Minihane or his cousin of the same name. But he has the right relatives to be closely related.
