Xerxes Price settled on property near that of his father Ebenezer on Roundabout Landing between South River and Roundabout Landing in Sayreville, New Jersey. He operated a stoneware making business in Sayreville.[7] [8]
In December 1829, a judgment was issued against Ebenezer Price, Xerxes Price, and Isaac Fourate in favor of George Whitehead. There was a property seizure of a 146-acre tract which was then sold at auction to George W. Price. Isaac Fouratt was a son-in-law of Xerxes and George W. Price was a son of Xerxes. [9]
On 4 March 1830, Xerxes Price of South Amboy, in consideration of $697.02, conveyed 66 acres in South Amboy to Peter VanDeventer. [10]
On 23 April 1842, a Court judgment was entered in a case with Joseph Taylor as claimant and George W. Price, Ebenezer Price, and Henry French as defendants and a further defendant represented by the executor of the will of Robert Morris deceased. The property involved was a 146-acre tract which had been the subject of a property division from the estate of Xerxes’s father Ebenezer. Others involved were Isaac Fouratt and Ebenezer Price, Jr. Part of this property had come under mortgage. George W. Price was part owner of this property, and he was ordered to pay $80.43 and $13.49. [11]
In 1830, Xerxes headed a household of four persons at South Amboy: one male 40 to 49, one male 10 to 14, one female 5 to 9, and one female 15 to 19.[12]
Xerxes Price and Nancy Letts were parents of six children born likely at South Amboy. [13]

John R. Price served as Captain in Company G of the Third Regiment of the Michigan Infantry during the Civil War. He served as Marshall of Lansing, Michigan.[16]
