Biography

Marie Clara Rivet, daughter of Pierre Renard dit Enos Rivet and Marie Lidori Comeau, was born on 26 December 1850 in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, United States. She was baptized on 3 February 1851 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in St. Gabriel. Her godparents were Louis Courtebray and Eliza LeBlanc.^[1]

She was only two years old when her father died. Clara was enumerated with her siblings and widowed mother during the 1860 census, living in Bayou Goula, Iberville Parish.^[2] By 1870, she was living with "Susan Rivet" (probably her mother) in a house in New Orleans.^[3]

She married John L. Moore in New Orleans about 15 September 1870.^[4]
