SEABROOK, N.H. — Harold P. Ingalls, 85, of Seabrook, N.H. died Sunday, May 3, 3009, at Oceanside Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hampton, N.H. He was born in Malden, March 19, 1924, the son of the late Ralph P. and Elizabeth F. (Whitney) Ingalls. Mr. Ingalls was raised in Malden and attended the local schools. He worked as a mechanic and foreman for Smyly Buick in Malden for 23 years. He moved to Seabrook in 1968 and worked for several years at Dreher-Holloway in Exeter, N.H. as a service manager. Mr. Ingalls was a highly decorated veteran of WWII, serving as a tail gunner with the U.S. Army Air Force. He flew 63 combat missions from Malta, Libya and Tunisia and was shot down three times. He was the recipient of two Distinguished Flying Cross Medals, 12 Air Medals and 15 Battle Stars. Harold was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton, a member of the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus Council 5093 of Hampton, VFW Post 1088 of Kingston, N.H., American Legion Post #35 of Hampton and a life member of DAV Chapter #4 of Newington, N.H. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn M. (Botto) Ingalls, who died in 1992, his stepson Donald J. Watt and his sisters Leah Holsworth and May Kaufman. Family members include three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, N.H. A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2009 in the Oakdale Cemetery, Maple Street, Middleton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
