Katie passed away at the age of 50 and is buried in Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery in Evergreen, Avoyelles, Louisiana.^[1]

OBITUARY:

"BRUNSON - In New Orleans, La., at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 1938, Mrs. Katherine Brunson, aged 50 years, of Bunkie, La. Deceased is survived by her mother, Mrs. W. F. Everett, Evergreen, La.; one sister, Mrs. George Ford, Evergreen; one brother, R. W. Everett, New Orleans.

"Her body was taken by rail to Bunkie arriving at 3:15 a.m. Friday, June 10, after which it was taken to Hixson Brothers' Bunkie Funeral Home until 5 o'clock when services were held from the First Baptist Church by the Rev. S. C. Rushing, pastor, officiating.

"Pall-bearers were: Frank, Arthur, George and Alvin Ford, Walter Patrick and M. McNabb. Interment was made int he Evergreen cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Bunkie funeral directors."^[2]
