Bennet Alexander was born in 1702, the son of Edward Alexander and his wife Levina Bennet. He added the last name of Bennet on inheriting the Babraham estate from his mother, who was the daughter of Sir Levinus Bennet, 2nd Baronet.[1] In 1738 he was living at the White House in Chipping Ongar and about 1742 married a girl in the same village, Mary Ash, but died in 1745.
