Biography
Baptism
- Huldah Norton was born at Northfield, Massachusetts, in 1757, the daughter of Alexander Norton and Lydia (Chamberlain) Norton. A transcription in the Massachusetts Births and Chistenings database gives the date as 3 Jul 1757.[1] The 1906 Belcher genealogy says she was baptized at Northfield on that date,[2] as does the 1875 history of Northfield.[3]
Marriage
- On 8 Jun 1775, Huldah Norton and William Belcher, both of Northfield, Massachusetts, were married at Northfield.[2][4] Hulda Belcher is named in the will of her father Alexander Norton, made in 1790.[5]
Death
- A gravestone at the Center Cemetery in Northfield, Massachusetts, says that Huldah Belcher died on 23 Apr 1825 in her 68th year.[6]
