Biography
Johan was born in Växjö 13 April 1788 to the chamois maker Friberg and his wife Märtha Beckdahl.[1] His parents and an elder sister are in the household record at the time of Johan's birth. His father's given name is Peter.[2] In the next record Johan is also mentioned. The family moved to Kalvsvik parish in 1790.[3]
The journeyman Johan Friberg, born 13 April 1788 in Växjö, came from Norrköping to Stockholm Nicolai in March 1814 to be employed by the coppersmith Bergström.[4]
Coppersmith Johan Friberg and Jungfru Maria Larsdotter Lindström were married 24 February 1822. (His birth date is recorded as 3/4 1788).[5] They had a daughter, Maria Josephina, 7 April 1825,[6] but she must have died in infancy.
When their son was born in 1827 they lived in the quarter Typhon in Gamla Stan. Johan Friberg had two apprentices.[7]
Coppersmith Johan Friberg died from a cold 10 October 1842.[8][9]
