Biography

Christopher Sheridan was born in Ireland around 1828. ^[1] He came to America around the age of 18. He married Ellen Walsh. He servied in the Confederate Army. ^[2] In 1870, he was living in Bibb County, Georgia with his wife and six chidren. ^[3] By 1900, they are still living in Bibb with three adult children and three grandchildren.^[4] He passed away in 1909.^[5]

Obituary

Macon, Ga. December 24 - (Special) Christopher Sheridan, one of the oldest citizens of the community and pioneer in the business development of Macon, died at noon after a lingering illness.

He was 75 years of age and had been a resident of this city half a century. He was born in Dublin, Ireland and reached America at the age of 18. His greatest usefulness was as a contractor and builder. He was a Confederate soldier, and was long a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Three daughters survive him - Sister M. Deneri, of Mount DeSalles; Mrs. J. J. Ahern and Miss Julia Sheridan. There are five sons, Robert E. Thomas, B. Christopher, S. Patrick, J. and Edward A. Sheridan.

The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon at St. Joseph's. ^[6]
