Biography

Ruth Neuman Jacobson was born March, 19, 1925 in New York, City to Gertrude and Oscar Newman. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa in 1944. She then earned a Masters Degree from Yale University In Performing Arts. She was married to Coleman Jacobson on March 26, 1944 in New York City. Ruth and Coleman had two children, Stuart, who predeceased her on May 27, 1989 and Kyle Weinstein. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Coleman Jacobson, her daughter Kyle Weinstein and her husband Jeffrey, from Amherst, NH, grandson, Seth Romans and his wife Jen and their two children, Olivia and Lucy of South Hamilton, MA and his daughter Kaitlyn Williamson of Seattle, Washington, her other grandson, Jeremy Romans of Washington, D.C. and her nephew, Henry Pearson and his wife Becky of Dallas, TX.

Ruth was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed her life to the fullest, engaging in many charitable and liberal causes always taking the side of the poor and under-represented. At the same time she loved entertaining and dressing to the nines. She was an elegant and beautiful woman who above everything else loved her children, grand children and great grand children. She was devoted to her husband of 67 years.

In lieu of flowers donations on behalf of Ruth Jacobson can be made to Alzheimer's Association.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, March 25, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
