Biography

Isaac Mangle was born in April 1870 in Perry County, Pennsylvania, a son of John Mangle.[1]

Note: Their surname was also spelled "Mengle" on some records.

He married Alice Senora Ulsh on 22 June 1893 in Liverpool, Perry County.[2] Four months later, they had their first child, Herman. Their children included:

  1. Herman Mangle (1893-1963)
  2. Nora May Mangle (1895-1989)
  3. Helen A. Mangle (1899-1964)
  4. Cora A. Mangle (1906-?)

In 1900 they owned a farm in Buffalo Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania.[3] By 1910 they were working their own farm in Perry Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.[4]

Alice passed away in 1934. In the 1940 U.S. Census, Isaac was shown as living alone after her death.[5]

Isaac was diagnosed with cardio-renal disease about six months before his death. About a week before his death he fell as he was going from the bedroom to the bathroom, fracturing his right shoulder. He also developed pneumonia that week, further weakening his condition. Isaac passed away in May 1950 at age 80 and was buried in Aline Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.[6],[7],[8],[9]
