Minnie was probably born January 10, 1897 in Alabama, United States.[1]
Her parents were Julian Paulk and Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" (Briley) Paulk.[2]
In 1900, the family's last name was incorrectly shown as Faulk. Three year old Minnie lived in Barne's Cross Roads, Dale, Alabama, United States with her father Julian (shown as Jullian, age 23), mother Bettie (age 22), and newborn brother Barney.[2]
In 1910, thirteen year old Minnie lived in Faulks, Barbour, Alabama, United States with her father Julian (age 34), mother Mary (age 32), and siblings Barney (shown as Barnie, age 10), Gertie (age 7), and Effie (age 3). Her father was a farmer and Barney was a farm laborer.[3]
Minnie married Hiram Phillips May 16, 1914 in Dale County, Alabama, United States.[4]
Hiram died in 1916.[5]
In 1920, 23 year old Minnie (shown as Minih Phillips) lived on Atlantic Street in Barnes, Dale, Alabama, United States with her father Julian (age 43), mother Mary (shown as Bettie, age 42), and siblings Barney (shown as Bamie, age 19), Effie (age 13), and Gladys (age 9).[6]
Minnie married Milton Franklin Leroy (shown as M F L Leroy) July 25, 1921 in Dale County, Alabama, United States[7]
and they had at least three children (see Notes).
In 1930, the family's last name was incorrectly shown as Le Roy. Milton (age 40) and Minnie (age 33) paid $25 per month rent for their home at 2
216 South Bainbridge Street in Montgomery, Montgomery, Alabama, United States. They lived there with children Dora (age 8), Ester (shown as Florence, age 4), and Milton Rudolph (shown as Rudolph, age 2). Milton's sister Willie (age 32) also lived with the family. Milton was employed by an auto company as a machinist.[8]
In 1940, Milton (age 50) and Minnie (age 43) valued their home on Main Street or Bee Line Highway in Dale County, Alabama, United States at $400. They lived there with children Dora (age 17), Ester (shown as E Florine, age 14), and Milton Rudolph (shown as Rondolph, age 14). Minnie's mother Bettie Paulk (age 63) also lived with the family. Milton was a blacksmith in a private shop.[9]
