Biography
Arthur Philpotts was born about 1867 in Monmouthshire, Wales, United Kingdom.
In the 1871 census Arthur (age 3) was the son of Joseph Phillpotts in Kington, Herefordshire, England.[1]
In the 1881 census Arthur (age 13), Errand Boy, was the son of Joseph Phillpotts at 80 Warrington Lane, Wigan, Lancashire, England.[2]
In the 1891 census Arthur (age 23) was the lodger of Robert Taylor Goodman in Bradford, Yorkshire, England.[3]
Arthur departed on 12 November 1891 from England and arriving in Wellington New Zealand[4]
Arthur married Charlotte Challis on 27 January 1897[5]
Arthur died on 28 January 1942 in Masterton, Wairarapa, New Zealand aged ~74. and is buried at Archer Street Cemetery, Masterton.[6].[7]
