Biography

William Reese Ottey was born on the 15th of Feb 1872 in Springfield, Delaware to Peter Ottey and Ruth Hedrick^[1].

In 1880^[2]

In 1900^[3]

He would marry Valeria May Ackerman in 1901 in New Jersey^[4] and they would have:

• Earl Russell Ottey(1901-1995)^[5][6]
• Grace D Ottey (1913-2001)^[6][7][8][1]

In 1910^[5] Valeria confirmed she had one child who was still living.

In 1920^[6]

In 1930^[7] they lived in their own home that was worth about 12,000 with a radio set. He was a proprietor in a Cigar Store.

Howevery by 1940^[8] things would change and his home would be worth about 2,300 and was working in a restuarant.

His final home would be at 523 Yale, Avenue, before moving to the Engleside Nursing Home^[1], and Valeria would pass away before him, and his primary occupation would be as a Tobacco merchant.

He died of a Cerebral Vascualar accident on the 15th of Jan, 1960 in Ridley Park, Pennslyvania^[1] and he would be buried in the Eastlawn Cemetery in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania^[9]
