Biography
Irene Thelbern Stewart was born on February 19, 1918 in Dresden, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Robert Stewart and Verlie Jones.
Irene married Daniel Wallace Duffer in 1939. He and Irene had a son, Douglas Harold Duffer, in 1941. Douglas only lived to the age of 1, passing away on January 26, 1943.
Irene worked for the General Motors Research Laboratory, located in Chicago, Illinois, for most of her life.
Irene passed away from cancer at NHC Healthcare, located in Milan, Tennessee, on December 25, 1999 at the age of 81. She is buried alongside her husband and son in the Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Kenton, Tennessee[1].
