Biography

George was born in 1853. He is the son of William Rowland and Martha Upchurch.

His father died in the Civil War in 1861. George and his brothers went to live with their grandparents James E Rowland and Permelia Unknown . His two sisters continued to live with their mother.

George Rowland married Nancy Baugus/Borgus on 15 Dec 1875 at Warren County, Tennessee. ^{[1] [2]} Nancy passed away in 1876, about a month after the birth of their son Cornelius, and Cornelius was taken in by his maternal grandparents. Child:

G W Rowland married Ann Green (Celina Angeline Green) on 27 May 1877 at Warren County, Tennessee. ^[3] They moved to Texas about 1879. Children:

He passed away in 1933 and is buried in City Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. ^[4]
