His father died in the Civil War in 1861. George and his brothers went to live with their grandparents James E Rowland and Permelia Unknown . His two sisters continued to live with their mother.
George Rowland married Nancy Baugus/Borgus on 15 Dec 1875 at Warren County, Tennessee. [1][2] Nancy passed away in 1876, about a month after the birth of their son Cornelius, and Cornelius was taken in by his maternal grandparents. Child:

G W Rowland married Ann Green (Celina Angeline Green) on 27 May 1877 at Warren County, Tennessee. [3] They moved to Texas about 1879. Children:

He passed away in 1933 and is buried in City Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. [4]
