  13. Obituary - Belfast Weekly News May 27, 1871:Death Rev. Thomas Knox.— We regret to announce the death of the Rev. Thomas Knox, Rector of the parish of Ballymoney, which occurred on Tuesday. The sad event was not unexpected, as the deceased gentleman had been ailing for some time. As a clergyman of the Protestant Episcopal Church of Ireland, he assiduously cultivated fraternal relations with other evangelical denominations. On several public occasions he eloquently advocated Protestant union, and on kindred leading questions his views were enlightened and his walk consistent. Amid certain difficulties, even those parties pricipally involved were not disposed to indulge in railing accusations; for there were amiable traits of character which commanded their respect, and gracious acts and words which awakened their sympathies.
