Biography
Jessie Sophia Goudge (26 Aug 1860-28 Feb1923) = Rev. Fred Sherman
Jessie (Jesse) was probably born in 1860 probably in Windsor Nova Scotia.
The 1871 Canadian census lists Jesse as an 11 yr old, female, NS born, Presbyterian of the Lower Provinces adherent,[1] of English origin, living in Windsor NS.[2]
In her youth she was a locally renown as a graceful waltz dancer.[3]
The 1881 Cdn census transciber erroneously lists her as Lizzie S instead of Jessie S a 20 yr old, single, Presbyterian adherent, of English origin, living in Windsor NS.[4]
She was married between the census takings of 1881 and 1891 to Fred Sherman probably Reverend Sherman of Lawrence, Massachusetts, United States.
The 1891 Cdn census lists her as Jessie Sherman a 30 yr old, NS born, married, Calvinist Presbyterian adherent, living in the home of her father in Windsor NS.[5]
She died in 28 Feb 1923, place obscure, and was buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, NS, MEMORIAL ID195771731[6]
