Biography

According to her husband's petition for naturalization dated 6 May 1913, Esther Beame was born Esther Goldfarb in Lublin, Russ Poland.[1] According to the 1910 census (the only US census where she appears, as she apparently died before 1915) she was born about 1879.[2]

Esther Birnbaum migrated to the United States in 1906, joining her husband Philip Birnbaum in New York City. Esther, 26, was travelling with her sons Theodore (Isidore), 5, Joe, 3, and Abraham, infant, sailing from Liverpool aboard the Etruria on 11 August 1906 and arriving in New York on 18 August 1906.[3][4]
