The son of William Daniel (1743-1840) and Rachel Greenbury Howe (1746-1783), Hiram was born in Wake County around 1770.[1] He married Elizabeth "Polly" Moore (1771-1851), the daughter of Robert Moore and Martha Cunningham, in Wake County on September 12, 1797. Their children included:
Plummer Daniel (1797-1874)
Solomon Earl Daniel (1808-1863)
Jemima (Daniel) Bennett (1810-)
Having begun their westward move, in 1800, they lived in Morgan, North Carolina, in Rutherford County.
Daniel married Elizabeth (Polly) Moore and they had nine children (estimate). An exciting time in American History, Hiram Daniel would have been alive during events such as the Boston Tea Party, or the publication of Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" He married Elizabeth (Polly) Moore 12 September 1972 in Wake, North Carolina. He served in the 1812 War and received land from government afterwards.
[2] By 1820, they were in Stewart County, Tennessee.[3]
Research Notes
No substantiated death or burial records were found. There are some records for another Hiram Daniel who remained in North Carolina, and the Ancestry family trees seem to conflate the two.
