(b. 03/26/72), Jesse Bassett (b. 12/03/72), Frank Elliott (b. 10/04/75), Alice Virginia (b. 04/01/77 - married Charles Elmer Sheaffer), Margaret E. (b. 04/08/79), and Howard Brooks (b. 09/11/81). In 1860, he was a farmer presumably living in Perry County and stood 5' 5" tall with dark hair and brown eyes. They had 13 children, Laura, Edgar Poe, Albert, Kate, Annie M., William Lawrence, John Frazer, Harry Donald, Jesse Bassett, Frank, Alice, Margaret and Howard. Jesse was the sixth child, grew to 5'8" with a dark complexion and brown eyes. He fought in the Civil War with the 208th Regiment of the Army of the Potomac. During the winter the regiment was frequently under fire at the front.
