Biography

Mary was born September 15, 1922 in Hartford, Geneva, Alabama, United States. Her parents were George H Childs and Helen E (Richards) Childs.^[1]

In 1930, seven year old Mary lived on South 2^nd Avenue in Hartford, Geneva, Alabama, United States with her father George (shown as Houston G, age 53), mother Helen (age 49), and siblings Ralph (age 23), George (age 21), Wayne (age 19), Doris (age 17), Houston Jr (age 13), and William (age 10). Her married sister Ruth Rosamond (age 27) and Ruth's son Robert Rosamond (age 1) also lived with them. Mary's father was an insurance writer, Ralph was a drug store clerk, George was a laborer at odd jobs, and Wayne was a laborer in a pressing shop.^[2]

Mary married Ralph Augustus Ellis August 10, 1941 in Washington County, Florida, United States. At the time, Ralph worked for the Ford Motor Company and lived at 6611 Jackson Street in Dearborn, Michigan, United States.^[3] They had at least two children (see Notes).

Mary lived in Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, United States when she died December 20, 2003.^[4] She was buried in section 19E of the Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, United States.^[5]
