Biography
Born 13 Snape Street (?) (London) Baptised 1 Jan 1893 at St James the Great, Bethnal Green , Middlesex (now London), England. Father (Edwin) listed as Toolmaker. Mother was Harriet. Harriet lived at 15 Hartley Street when Iris Marjorie Mardle was a little girl. Edwin died when George was 15. George married Rebecca 3rd July 1920 at St Johns, East Dulwich, England at which time he lived at 15 Hartley Street. Rebecca lived at 22 Fenwick Road, East Dulwich with her mother, Benjamin and Maud Rosina. Benjamin had a short arm which he said he got in a fight with Joe Louis (a boxer of the time). At George's marriage, Edwin was listed as a Bakers Utensil Maker (decd) and Benjamin Butterfield as a Shoemaker (decd)
