Biography

Marcus Adelbert Rollins was born on December 14, 1884 in Monson, Piscataquis, Maine. He was the son of Frank L. and Lorinda Hilton (Littlefield) Rollins. Of note: Though he was born as Marcus Adelbert Rollins, sometimes Marcus's middle name was switched with his first name as he was known on occasion as Adelbert Marcus and by nickname "Dell."

Marcus married 1st Agnes R. Hodgkins on September 15, 1906 in Dover, Piscataquis, Maine after filing their intention to marry on September 7th. He was employed as a milkman at the time of his 1st marriage.

Marcus registered for service in WWI on September 12, 1918. At the time of his registration Marcus was residing in Guilford, Piscataquis, Maine and was working in a Woolen Mill as a cloth inspector. In 1918, Marcus and family removed to Sangerville where for 32 years Marcus worked as a foreman in the finishing room at Dunbarton Woolen Mill. Marcus and Agnes had no children.

Marcus married 2nd Mildred A. LaBree on May 12, 1923 in Dover, Piscataquis, Maine. They had three sons including Raymond A., Maxwell L., and Lawrence E..

Marcus passed away on September 8, 1962 in Dover-Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine and is buried at the Village Cemetery in Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine.
