Biography

Julian was born in 1917, son of Julius Bacanskas (1892-1951) and Lottie V Kressus (1892-1973).

Jules Bacon was a Physical Culture enthusiast and a Bodybuilder.

He won Mr. America in 1943.

In 1941, he began writing for Strength and Health with a column titled “What Can You Do?” He wrote for Strength and Health for more than 20 years.

He worked for York Barbell.

Jules Bacon was a lifelong friend of John Grimek.

Bacon founded the Jules Bacon Health Clubs in York, Pennsylvania. He was inducted into the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness Hall of Fame.

He passed away in 2007.
