Mary Shuttleworth was daughter of James Shuttleworth of Gawthorp in Lancashire, and his wife, Mary Holden[1][2] She was baptised at St George, Unsworth in Lancashire on the 4th of August 1751. [3]
On the 1st of October 1771 she married childless widower Charles Turner,[2] son of William Turner and his wife, Jane Bathurst. [1] They were parents of a son and two daughters. [1]
Charles died on the 26th of October 1783 [1] and married subsequently married Sir Thomas Gascoigne Bt. [2][4] at Ashton upon Trent in Derbyshire. [5]
She gave birth to a son, Thomas Charles Gascoigne in January 1786 and died from complications of childbirth on the 1st of February. [4]
She was buried at All Saints Church at Barwick in Elmet near Leeds in Yorkshire. [6]
