Biography

Alice (Jeffrey) Halbisch was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

of William Williamson JEFFREY and Susanna Scrivener WARR Birth reg as JEFFERY.

WEDDING BELLS.
I hear the bells are to be set ringing on the 28th inst. to celebrate the wedding of Mr. T. Halbisch to Miss Alice Jeffries, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Knott. Mr. Halbisch is the son of the old and respected inhabitant, Mr. C. Halbisch, farmer and grazier. Mr. and Mrs. Knott are well-known identities in Ganmain. A great number of guests have been invited, and a dance will be held in the evening at Mr. Knott's. [1]

Recorded as Alice Jeffrey and Samuel Halbish. they wed as was announced, their marriage registered Junee, New South Wales. [2]

In 1936, Alice was widowed.

DEATHS
HALBISCH.—On the 4th November, at private hospital, Glen Huntly, Samuel (formerly of Ganmain, N.S.W.), dearly beloved husband of Alice Halbisch, of No. 10 Narrawong-road, Caulfield South, and loving father of Sydney, Elizabeth, Eric, Ruth, Frederick and Gertrude, aged 67 years.

Alice Halbish passed away 27th April, 1952, at her residence, Nepean Highway, Highett, Victoria. She was interred in the Brighton Cemetery C/E, Section E, grave 1A with Samuel. [4]
