He passed away on the 17th of November 1695 and was buried at St Mary, Alverstoke. [1]

Three decks says in 1689 he commanded HMS Eagle (12) [2]
According to Wikipedia the 12 gun HMS Eagle was sold in 1655. [3]
Temporary conclusion is that the ship on question was HMS Eagle (1679) a 70 gun third rate
