by Stanley Arthur (Heritage Books, 2009 - History - 266 pages)

Don Ramón de Lopez y Angulo married Marie Delphine Macarty on June 11, 1800, ceremony performed by Luis de Penalver y Cardenas, the first bishop of Louisiana, at the Saint Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.

Mr. Arthur uses the marriage certificate which describes Ramon as being a "Caballero de la Royal de Carlos, Intendent of the Provinces, a native of the community of Regno, Galicia, Spain, and the legitimate son of his Lordshop Don Jose Antonio de Lopez y Angula and Dona Ana Fernande de Angula, daughter of Dona Francisca Borja Endecis"

After the Louisiana Purchase, 1804, Don Ramon was Counsel General for Spain. He died in Havana, on his way to Spain, and a few days later his daughter was born. She was named "Borquita" (little Borja) after her father's grandmother.

According to the newspaper obit on Find a Grave, her father was Ramon Lopez y Angullo de la Candelaria, who died about 1805 and was buried in Havana. "The subject of this sketch is was born in the city of Havana the same year her father died" Also in the obit, it states that she had eight children. six daughters; (but lists 7 daughters) Miss D.
