Birth

Nothing is known for certain of the ancestry of Edward Keen. Based on his age at his death from his gravestone, he was born about May 1797.^[1] The 1850 Census shows him as 52 years old, born in Maine.^[2] An Edward Keen was born at Sumner, Maine, on 17 Jul 1796 to Meshach Keen and Keziah (Keen) Keen,^[3] and Edward Keen's FindAGrave memorial, citing no sources, says that this was the Edward Keen who married Sally Munroe.^[4]

Marriages

1. Edward Keen (or Keene) of Sumner, Maine, married Sally Munroe of Livermore, Maine.^[5][6] In 1850, Edward and Sally Keene were living at Sumner at the ages of 52 and 53 with John M. Keene, 15, and Edward J. Keene, 12.^[2]
2. After the death of Sally Keen in 1851, Edward Keen remarried. In the 1860 Census, Edward Keen, 63, is shown at Sumner, Maine, living with Charlotte Keen, 57, and John M. Keen, 25.^[7]

Death

The gravestone of Edward Keen at the Keen Cemetery in Sumner, Maine, says that he died on 16 Mar 1876 at the age of 78 years, 10 months.^[1]
