Brian had a career in the Australian Public Service from 1975 to 2011, specialising in librarianship and information management, especially in science, technology and the environment. Since retirement, Brian has spent much time studying and researching theology.
In the 1970s Brian was for two years an Australian Volunteer Abroad at Sabah State Library, Malaysia.
Brian is a life-long Christian. he attended Sunday school and church as a boy and a teenager. From 1967 to 1976 he was a member of the Waverley Christian Fellowship (now City Life Church) where he encouraged the growth from small beginnings of a large fellowship of overseas students within the church.
Now, in Canberra, Brian attends St Philip’s Anglican Church, O’Connor ACT, with many and various roles changing over the years.
Since retiring from paid work, Brian has enjoyed travel with his husband, James: to Europe, North and South America, Japan, Korea, and New Zealand.
