John was born in about 1855, as the eldest of 8 children born to Isaiah Hatcher and Mary Morse.[1] He married Martha Rude on 12 March 1876; they had one child.[2] That marriage did not last; she appears in the 1880 census as divorced. [3]. In 1883, he appears to have had a relationship with a miss Anna Hays.[4][5] This relations appears to have resulted in the birth of twins, adopted by the man Anna married. John married again on 11 July 1887, to a miss Permelia Maybee. No children are known from this marriage. John passed away 19 December 1930, and was buried in the El Dorado Springs Cemetery[6]
