Joannes Gorka or Gurka, was born in 1878, to Martin Gurka and Hedwig. In 1865 he married Victoria Pawlowska in Sroda, Poland. They had two sons - Joseph 1875-1880 and Albert 1880-1954, although Albert was born after his father's death. Joannes died in 1878 in Nowe Miasto Nad Warta, Poznan, Poland.
