Biography

Ann (Taylor) Gilbert was an English poet.

She was born in 1782 in Islington, Middlesex, England. She lived with her family in London, England, in Lavenham, near Sudbury, Suffolk, England, in Colchester, Essex, England, and in Ongar in the Epping Forest district of Essex.

She married Joseph Gilbert in 1813. They lived in Masborough, near Rotherham, Yorkshire, England, in Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, and in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.

One of her poems was "The Maniac's Song", which appears in The Associate Minstrels, published in 1810 by her sister, Jane Taylor.

She died in 1866 in Nottingham, England, aged 84. ^{[1] [2] [3]}
