William Flanagan was born about 1830 in Ireland, the son of ?

In the 1860 US Census, William was a blacksmith in Hartford, CT, with wife Bridget, and children Anna 9 and William 6, both born New York. In the 1870 US Census, William is a blacksmith in Hartford, with wife "Gleason Flanagan" (actually Bridget Gleason as confirmed by son John F. Flanagan's death record) and two more children John 5 and Martin 3 both born in Connecticut. In the 1880 US Census William is a blacksmith in Hartford with wife "Mary", and they reside next door to daughter Annie Flanagan Curry and son-in-law Thomas Curry in Hartford.

William married Bridget Gleason (1833-1896) on? Their children were:

1. Anna M. "Annie" (Flanagan) Curry (1851–1917), buried Mt. Saint Bendict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Hartford County, Connecticut
2. Rev. William E. Flanigan (1853/1856–1916)​​, buried Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Hartford County, Connecticut
3. John Francis Flanagan (1865– )
4. Martin J. Flanigan (1867–1906)

William passed away in 1892 and was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Hartford, Connecticut.^[1]

Notes

It is strange to have such a large gap between the two pairs of children.
