Biography

James was born about 1842.

He married Eliza.

He lived at Sharp's Bay, Taawaite, Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough, New Zealand.^[1] He was a well known and experience whaler of Tory Straight.^[2][3]

He was accidentially drowned on 22 May 1870 while whaling. He was 28.^[4][5] He left a wife and two children. His body was not found.^[6]

James died intestate and his widow acted as the administrator of his estate.^[7]
