Biography
Caution to researchers - Joseph M. Pearson had a son and grandson of the same name.
The 1860 US Census has Martha as Head of Household, and eleven children. Joseph is indicated as nine years old and born in Tennessee.
Joseph married Margaret Jane Layton on 7 Jan 1875 in Fayette, Tennessee.
Per the death certificate, Joseph died of a heart attack on 20 Sep 1922, and was buried on 21 Sep 1922 in Gallaway Cemetery, Fayette, Tennessee. His parents were Joseph R. Pearson, born in North Carolina, and Martha Richardson, born in Virginia. The informant on the death certificate was Joseph M. Pearson, Fr. of Braden, Fayette, Tennessee. The Findagrave information has the burial location as the Layton Family Cemetery in Gallaway, Fayette, Tennessee.
