Biography

Robert Lawrence "Bobby" Layne was born on 19 Dec 1926 in Santa Anna, Coleman Co., Texas to His mother died when he was eight years old, and Bobby moved in with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Hampton.

He attended Highland Park High School in University Park, a suburb just north of Dallas, where he was a teammate of Doak Walker, the Heisman Trophy winner in 1948.

He passed away in 1986.
